Dear Barbara,
Your Clasby's are in Albemarle and Amherst County, Va in the 1810 census and fought in the 1812 war. One of them was from Amherst County, VA.
Dandridge Clasby fought in the 1812 war in 8 Regt Walls Virginia Militia.
William Clasby was in 7 Regt Grays VA Militia, also in the 1812 War.
The John of William and Susannah Thurman is living next to my family in the 1870 census of St. Francis County, MO with his wife, their one year old child and two other children with a different last name. I don't have that information at the moment but I did wonder what John Thurman of William and Susannah of Indiana was doing living next to my family in Missouri.
My family was from Amherst County, VA and it makes me wonder if there was any relationship.
I believe that Susannah was born in VA. in spite of everything.
Regards, Marie
