William T. Clasby was born in Tennessee and died on 7 Oct 1865 from wounds received in the Civil War. He was a Confederate. We know he died at home in Missouri, we think in Dade County. His wife, whom he married sometime before 1859, was Mary Thurman. She was born we specualte before 1850 and per the census in KY. She died after 1910 at Fairbury, Jefferson Co, Nebraska. The Thurman's migrated from Rockport, Spencer Co, Indiana on the Ohio River to Dade County, Missouri about 1860 and homesteaded their own place. Some time later in life, Mary moved to Fairbury, Nebraska to live with her married oldest daugther, Ann Roebough, where she remained until her death. There is no family record of Mary taking another husband after the death of her husband. Willima T. Clasby and Mary Thurman had 4 children: (1)Ann who married Mr. Roebough and had two children, Pearl and Minnie. She settled at Fairbury and it she to whom Mary went in her old age. (2)John E. 'Jack Clasby married 'Sarah Ann' and they had Mattie. Jack and Sarah Ann homesteaded at Yale Oklahoma.(3) Susan E. Clasby who married Benjamin Henry Thompson.(4) They also had a girl whose name we don't know and whose history we have not found but we do have a picture of her. Are you Barbara?
