Every little bit helps Shelley, Thanks .
I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to trace the line. I have a copy of 1881 British census for Old Wigtown, and it states a James Clive head of house. and 5 sons age 6-11 years, and one Anthony Clive unmarried 69 years He was a brother to James Clive the head of the house. My greatfather's name was Anthony Clive, it all ties in including Dates the only thing wrong is he was unmarried, but I surpose its not unusal for such a thing to happen.
Anyway I shall keep trying. All the best hope to hear from you again thank you
Ronald.
