hello Shelley,
You sure have some interesting hobbies, haven't you. I bet your tops at the lot of them too. I should have more time on the computer now the hot weather is here, I have had some news from Scotland which explains one puzzle, although I expected it and I think you did too. James Clave was the illegitimate son of Anthony Clave and Sarah Linwood. Sarah was born in Genock 9 april 1821, the same town that James Clave was born. Anthony Clave lived close by. Looks like Sarah and Anthony were not married. In one of your letters you said Anthony was married to Sarah and had James in 1842 and Bapt. in 1843. The place and dates fit have you any information that verifies the marriage?
Sarah was the daughter of William Linwood and Elizabeth McCreath. They lived at Cothouse, Genloch in 1841 with another daughter Eliza Linwood 14. William 12. Sarah was married 4 Jan 1859 to John McNair Fulton 40 years when Sarah was 47 and a Spinster. Sarah's father was a servant so maybe Sarah was too. My other line (Fraser & Westwater) has been traced back to early 18th centery and middle 17th Centery so far. Shelley I can understand how your other hobbies have gone by the way side.
How is your research going?
Best wishes to you & yours Ronald.
