CLAVEL, CLVAELL OR CLAVELLES in Ireland
Posted by: SueNZ (ID *****3286) Date: May 06, 2010 at 18:16:32

Looking for any information on Clavel or similar spellings in Ireland. I have
Anthony Clavel born 1765 and sister Jane born 1763. I don't know if they were born in Ireland or not. Their births are written on a family bible page -Dublin bible dated 1790.

I have various records for Anthony who built a home before 1820 called Mt Anthony on Rathmines Road.

I am looking to find out where he was born and where his Clavel line came from. He had two daughters only that I know of. There is another Clavel record on the Dublin Diocese website with a mmarriage for Maria Antoinette Clavel who married in 1877 to a John Mortimer Davies at St Andrews Parish RC. Her address shows of Lyons, France. I don't know if she is related or not. Maria and Antionette were also names used for Anthony Clavel's daughters.

Any help appreciated. Thanks
