F&I War 1764 Lt. Col Asher Clayton
Lt Col Asher Clayton led the Pennsylvania Regiment on the Col Henry Bouquet Sept-Nov 1764 Expedition to the Muskingum River in (now) Central Ohio, to free approx 300 captives of the Shawnees, Delawares and Other Indians.
Col Clayton, and the PA Regt. returned approx 100 of those captives (probably) to Carlisle, PA, because they were captured in PA.The freed captives were mainly from PA & VA.
Seeking contact with a descendant of Col Clayton, or any researcher familiar with this subject, for possible direction to records which will reveal the disposition of the captives after they were returned to civilization.Thank you.
