Sampson and Solomon Clayton, Muddy Creek church, DeKalb, AL

The History of Methodism in Alabama has a note that there was a Methodist Church at Muddy Creek (near Brandon's Station) organized around 1836. Sampson Clayton and Solomon Clayton attended there.

Sampson Clayton and Solomon Clayton were the appraisers of my GGG-Grandfather's estate; his son, Rev. John Potter, was the executor. I'm curious if John Potter was associated with the Muddy Creek church.

Does anybody have any information on the Muddy Creek church?
