You need a Male in your family with the Surname Clayton (or other Surname only if you know they would be Clayton if not for an Adoption). Has to be MALE. Go to:
https://www.familytreedna.com/
Sign up for a 37 or 64 marker test. Do not waste your time on 12 unless you have a question as to whether or not they are really a Clayton. The test consists of signing up, paying the fee and they send you a kit to swab the inside of the cheed with a very sterile "Q-tip" and putting in a sealed vial and returning to the Test Lab.
