Hi I am looking for information on my great great grandfather William Alexander Cleaves born May 26, 1830 in Maine (town unknown) William died July 5, 1889 and he was a Civil War veteran - I know this because I have his discharge papers. William married Naoma Cooper on May 12, 1852. Their children are: Evelyn Isadora born March 30, 1853, Willis Warrell born February 18, 1855 and died March 29, 1918, Jediah William born April 15, 1859, Bertie Nett born February 1, 1862 and died November 23, 1877, Inez Lettie born August 18, 1864 and died January 29, 1906, Effie Angie born June 12, 1869 and died March 18, 1894 and Erdine Delia born November 16, 1871 and died July 5, 1904. William was in Company G, 2nd Regiment, Maine Calvary Volunteers, United States Civil War, dismissed from service in 1865. If anyone has any information for me I'd be happy and more than willing to share my own. Please feel free to email me at Thanks in advance.
