Hello Susan,

I find your Cleaves post of interest. My great grandmother was Lucy Alice Cleaves, born Amherst, Hillsborough, New Hampshire. To James Barker Cleaves, his father was a Nathaniel Cleaves. James married a Joanna E. Hartshorne. They are found in Amhesrt in the 1850 Census. James died Nov. 18, 1850 Joanna married a Torrey sometime before 1860. Only she and her One year old son Albert are living in Walpole, Norfolk, Massachusetts in the 1860 census, just down the street from my great grandfather John Drown Hutchinson, who was age 24. Lucy would have been age 13. Lucy isn't listed in the 1860 Walpole Census. I wonder if she was with Relatives?

Where is George Nathaniel Cleaves buried? Do you have any birth or marriage info?

Regards,
Norm
