I do a lot of genealogy and have taken a stab at this several times, to no avail. I will say that CLEMENT is supposed to be a separate surname and Clemens, Clemmens, Clemons, Clemmons are all the same.

Searching around online, I found that one of Barnabas' older daughters, Hannah b 1730 is supposed to have married John Clemmons who was born about 1715. I'm going to follow that lead. John and Elizabeth easily could be siblings.

These are my ancestors, Barnabas and Elizabeth Eaton.
