My great great grandfather was James Klepper/Clepper. "K" changed to "C" to Americanize the name. One of 3 brothers immigrating in 1700's, probably Port of Philadelphia. Have copy of ship's registry from local library resources. Brothers were Johann, Jacob and James. Family owned many, many acres of land near Mount Eagle, Tennessee, between Chattanooga and Nashville. Have copies of deeds where acreage and slaves were given to children when they were married. Do have info given me by an aunt many years ago, as well as another relative. Have done some research and am continuing. Know that 1 set of Clepper's went to Texas. (Supposedly one of those ladies was secretary to Strom Thurmond in early '70's. Met her brother at Bob Jones University in 76-77 when 2 of my kids were students there. Unfortunately, lost track of him. Appreciate your descentants info. Will share ours in couple of months. Still collecting info.
