Your Mary B. Clontz is actually Mary Ellen Weddington b. 1828 *see 1860 Union Co. NC census*Her husband was John Abraham Clontz b.1832 d. between 1856/1860. Their children (1) Isabella b. 15 Oct 1852 md 20 Aug 1875 Union Co. Jacob Cull Pressly (2) Mary Ellen (someone else said Mary Virginia) b. 3 Apr 1856 d. 8 Aug 1914 (should be a death certificate on file)md. 21 Feb 1871 Union Co. James E. Hartsell (3) Milton Abraham b. 26 Mar 1862 d.3 Mar 1933 Union Co. md Elizabeth Cancie Clontzb. John Culpepper Simpson. The widow Mary Clontz married 2nd 12 Jan 1865 Mecklenburg Co. NC James Hall by whom she had William Hall b. 1866 md. 13 Aug 1893 S. E. KiserJohn Abraham Clontz was the son of John Adam Clontz b. 1796 d. 27 Aug 1857 bur. Union Cemetary at Brief near Monroe. His wife Martha "Patsy" Blair b. 1804 d. after 1870 d/o James Blair and granddaughter of William Blair who came to this country with his wife in 1749/50.John Adam Clontz was the son of the Rev. War Patriot, Jeremiah Clontz, wife Anna Catherine Long.Jeremiah and Anna Catherine are also buried in the Union Cemetary at Brief.A note that I have is that John Adam and his wife Patsy lived at the old Clontz homestead at the mouth of Goose Creek and then settled at the James Blair homestead now know as the John E. Hagler place.John E. Hagler married Mary E. d/o John Adam and Patsy. She apparently inherited the Blair homestead from her parents.Hope that you will enjoy learning about your Clontz ancestry.Betty K.
