Yes, I think marriage of "close" relatives was a relatively common phenomenon in the area around Round Hill.I have a map which shows that area before 1875.
My father, Everett Close, Jr. was born in the Thompkins Close house in Round Hill that the family lived in for 5 generations.He did a lot of research and compiled an extensive genealogy of our side of the Close family. When you read it you'll find the names on the homes nearby on the map that look very familiar.
I often wonder whether the family genetic condition called alpha-one antitrysin deficiency discover by CB Laurel and Erickson ( I met them years ago) may have originated by gene concentration through this intermarriage.
