The name Cloudas is prominent in Middlesex Va. The name is spelled Cloudas; Clowder; crouders; crowdas; crowder; I am searching for a David Crowdas(need his parents) who married Ann Thurston, the d/o Duel Thurston and Judith Moseley of Middlesex. Duel had a brother Francis Thurston. David Crowdas had three daughters: Sarah; Elizabeth; and Susannah. It is difficult to follow lines of females. After his wife Ann Thurston died, he probably married again. I believe he went to Mason Cty.WVA. Perhaps he left male heirs with a second wife? I may post the names above mentioned on anc. com. and it may help some of you to find your ancestor. I did see a David Crowder (on a family tree) who had a daughter Nancy Jane Crowder born in Kanawah,WV and married a Henry J Rowsey. He was born in Rockbridge,Va. m. in Cabell Cty. and went to Mason??? I think he is connected because my ancestor lived in Rockbridge and went to Mason Cty. Ann
