Harold Clough m. Harriet A. Bilbruck ca. 1910 in ME/NH?
Looking for information on Harold Clough who married Harriet Adelaide Bilbruck, probably in Maine or New Hampshire about 1910.They have two daughters by 1920:Virginia Beaumont Clough(ca. 1914) and Christina Agnes Clough (12 APR 1916).But in the 1920 census, the daughters are with their grandmother, Harriet Beaumont Bilbruck, in Michigan (does anyone know why?) - all listed as "boarders".In 1930 Harriet B. CLOUGH, age 78, is back in Maine with the two granddaughters (she should have been listed as Harriet B. BILBRUCK - do not know why the mixup).I never see the girls in the household with their parents.Harriet Adelaide was a piano teacher and played organ in the Methodist Church in Kittery, ME.Her tombstone lists her as Harriet A. MARTIN so there is another marriage after Harold Clough. She was b. 27 AUG 1887 in England and d. 23 MAY 1962 in Portsmouth, NH (or possibly in Kittery, ME, not sure which).
From family information, I think Harold died soon after the birth of Christina.I find a Harold Clough of about the right age, b. in NH, listed as Lieutenant on the USS Dreadnaught in the Navy yard at Ware Island, CA in the 1920 census.Could this be the same Harold? Was he possibly killed during WWI or as a result of his post on the Dreadnaught?
