My x-gr-grandparents, Edward and Eliza Roche, had a son named Manning Brinckle Roche. He was born in Wilmington, DE in 1796 and named for his father's mother, Mary Manning, and his own mother, Eliza Brinckle Roche. He became an Episcopalian minister and served as Rector in the Southwark section of Philly. He married, but I do not have his wife's name or the date or place of the marriage. He left Philly and went to New Bedford, MA where he was a practicing physician. I do not know if he was also a minister there. It is possible that he left the Episcopalian Church and became a Swedenbourgian minister, but I'm not certain about that. I know that he and his wife had two sons, John and Edward. I do not know if there were any other children. He died in 1847, probably in New Bedford, MA.

Is any of this familiar to you? It is hard to believe that there were two men named Manning Roche who were not related.

Please reply directly to me as I rarely get to this site.
