My g-grandfather born in Phila, Pa was Edward A. Clover, who moved to Paterson, NJ and became Paterson's 1st tobacco merchant. His mother was Sophia Noton (not Norton) Clover born in Yorkshire, England 7 Sep 1799. Married Thomas Clover b England June 24, 1798 possibly Austerfield, Yorks. Married Sophia Noton 24 Aug 1818 Rotherham, Yorks. Her parents: Sir Thomas Noton, b c 1775 & Mary (last name unknown). Thomas's parents Thomas & Sarah Clover. Thomas & Sophia emigrated to US to Phila in 1823 and Thomas became a US citizen on 13 Jan 1829. They had 11 children of whom Manning was the last. Thomas died 12 Nov 1859 & Sophia at 73 years. Viewing at home of Manning R. Clover 1542 South Seventh Street, Phila. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Thomas probably buried there also.
