Robert and Mary Ann Clover of Church Street, Gt Ellingham, Suffolk
Posted by: Mike Clifford (ID *****8764) Date: February 07, 2007 at 05:46:10

We have a link in our family tree to Robert Clover who was born about 1827 at a location transcribed as Barkestie in the 1861 Census. The county was not stated, but Clovers were strongest in Suffolk

Barkestie is almost certainly an error and we would welcome assistance in tracing Robert's origins and ancestors. Possibilities for his place of birth in Suffolk might be Barking, Backston(e) or even Buckshall. However his wife was from Brandon, Norfolk and that suggests the various Buckenhams might be other possibilities.

Thanks in anticipation,

Mike and Jane
