P.S. Here are some stray Clows who were working as servants in Highgate, Franklin County, VT, in 1860. (Data from the 1860 census).

Mary Clow, b,. 1839, Vermont, servant in the home of Francis & Jane Smith.

Harriet Clow, b. 1840, VT, servant in the home of Damian & Augusta Dennison.

William Clow, b. 1843 VT, servant in the house of Francis & Jane Smith.

From your family data,it would appear that Mary and Harriet Clow could be daughters of the late John Clow and Dorothy Catherine Smith working as servants prior to the family's move to Illinois.

But then who is William Clow ?

Regards,

Tom Brown
