Good Question! The listing for William Clow has the same birth year as my great grandfather Lester Clow. Maybe a census error, or a transcription error, or just a cousin. Never heard of Lester being called William though, but there this guy is with my great grandaunts.

Thanks for that note. Seems to show that not everyone went to Illinois in 1855 as thought...stayed in Vermont a bit longer.
