Hellow...I am Dan Clubb a direct descendant of Peter Klopp/Klobb/Klob/Clobb/Club/Clubb,my father{Darrice Lavern Clubb,1929-2004}and I,had research done on our Clubb family in 1996,and it was from this research that our Clubb ancestors were found to be of germanic origin. The research was done by Achievements LTD Centre For Heraldic And Genealogical Research And Artwork,79-82 Northgate,Canterbury,Kent CT1 1BA,England.unless someone can tell me this is not a reputable genealogical service,I would believe their work was correct.I know Mr. Steven Behr does not believe there is any evidence for a Peter Klopp, thats because he was known by his anglicized surname Clubb. As most surnames do change as they came to America.Even in Germany the surname was Klobb as well as KLOPP.The clerks who wrote the surnames down would write them as they sounded to a surname as Klopp or Klobb,COULD of easily sounded like Clubb to them. Research by Lorena Shell Eakers, was the bases for the conclusions by the genealogical service I and my father hired to do the research. Unless someone can show me her work is incorrect I believe she has sound conclusions. My father and I spent quite a considerable amount a money on this research. So I really think unless someone has some real prove the Peter Clubb of North Carolina is from somewhere else, then GERMANY,... I will continue to believe HE is of germanic origins. Dan M. Clubb
