So you're fairly sure she died somewhere in CO, but do you have an approximate timeframe? If you saw her in the 50's, does that mean she died before the 60's? Or that just happens to be the last time you saw her?

Did you get all the obituaries for her children/step-children/siblings? Surely one of them might say what her new surname was? Austin Thomas Thorpe is listed at findagrave.com. He died in 1967.

Do you have any kin in CO Springs? There is a Lillian Pearl Phillips buried in Memorial Gardens Cemetery found listed here: http://files.usgwarchives.org/co/elpaso/cemeteries/colosprings/memgardens/memgd137.txt I took the liberty of calling the cemetery, but they have no further information other than she was buried 25 Jun 1970 in Sermon on the Mount in 53a1. I realize there were several Lillian Pearl women that could be yours, but since she was listed as being born 1887, I figured it might be worth a shot. The cemetery didn't have a maiden name or husband for her... but an obit might.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck
