Eleanor Coade and Coade Stone

Your cousin may have been talking about Miss Eleanor Coade who invented a type of artificial ceramic stone (Coade stone) that was used in many famous monuments. She had a factory out of London in the late 18th century. Her father was supposed to be George Coade of Lyme Regis in Devon, a prosperous wool merchant who later went bust. However - I can find no trace of George.
If anyone can tell me about this branch of the Devon Coades I would very much like to hear about it. Also - please see my posting to the Coode forum.
