3 Brothers Coady Legend in Atlantic Canada (?)
Posted by: Mark Coady Date: September 24, 2001 at 03:18:35

My grandfather (Fred Coady, Kinkora, PEI) has passed on a 'legend' of three Coady brothers from Ireland who emigrated to Atlantic Canada during the great potato famine. For some reason, they split up when they settled in Canada. One settled in Nova Scotia, one in PEI and one in Newfoundland. I know there are Coady clans in all three of those provinces (the one in NS helped found St. Francis Xavier University, the one in NF is the largest of the three, and my family is from PEI). Anyone else out there ever hear this story or can correct it?

Thanks,

Mark
