Threadgill/Cobbs Marriage in Brunswick Co. VA-1700s
I note from the Cobb/Cobbs website that the son of Robert Cobb and Crosia Frith named Samuel Cobb married a FNU Carter...and Samuel also married a Mary Morgan...and Samuel fathered a daughter who was named Polly (nickname for "Mary") Cobb (and NO KNOWN HUSBAND is shown on the Cobb/Cobbs website for this Polly Cobb).Do the dates and places "work-out" for this Polly Cobb to have possibly been the Mary Cobb "of Lunenburg Co., VA" (per a later Rev. War pension application) who married John Threadgill in Brunswick Co., VA?Please see the other posts on this message board about this John Threadgill/Mary Cobb marriage.
Note: Lunenburg was created from a portion of Brunswick Co., VA in 1746 and Halifax Co., VA was created from a part of Lunenburg in 1752.
John Threadgill was in Anson Co., NC later, and it appears that it was a branch of my Davidson family that was out of Buckingham Co., VA that was closely associated with his family in Anson (and a William Hoy Davidson in Anson was married to a Nancy Unknown, and Nancy MAY very well have been a Miss Threadgill....albeit no proof at this time).Comments? Thanks!
