This is the information I found on the net and I have not verified any of it.Possibly the names are mixed up between the generations:
George Cockburn I b. about 1700 in Bertie County, NC and died about 1790 in Edgecomb County, NC.George married Polly UNKNOWN.Children:
Andrew; Ann; John; Christine b. about 1743 NC and died July 1813, Aston, NC; George II b. about 1765 Martin County, NC, died 12 Apr 1799 in Edgecomb County, NC; and George III b. 1783 d. 1809.
George Cockburn II married Frances UNKNOWN.Children:
Winifred b. about 1772 Edgecomb, NC
Elizabeth b. about 1779 Edgecomb, NC
Mary b. about 1781 NC
Francis b. about 1789 Edgecomb, NC
Marie b. about 1793 Edgecomb, NC
Theophilus b. Edgecomb County, NC d. about 1837 Mobile, AL
I've found two census records for a Theophilus/Thopholus Cockburn/Coburn in Alabama but the birth years are about 1880 and 1820 which don't fit with George II's son.Like I said, this stuff in unconfirmed and I'm trying to sort it all out and prove or disprove what I can. Thanks for your input.
