According to all published reports, Capt. John Cockey, son of William & Sarah (Underwood) was born in Broadneck Hundred, Anne Arundel Co., MD.

Elizabeth Slade married Charles Baker after the death of Capt. John and died in 1780 in Balto. Co. A partial tombstone resting against the stone wall at St. Thomas Church, Garrison Forest, Baltimore Co., MD says "In Memory Of Elizabeth Baker, Died August" ... the remainder of the tombstone is missing or buried underground. It sits next to several graves of Cockey's.
