Eleanor/Ellen Maria Cockey (c.1798 - 1867/68) was granted 'power of attorney' in 1853 by some of her siblings and cousins to see if there was any land bounty due them for the Rev. War service of their grandfather, Col. Edward Cockey.

In the 1850 Census, Ellen and her younger sister, Henrietta Owings Cockey (c.1800 - 19 Aug 1878), lived in Westminster, Carroll County, MD. Henrietta was the head of the household, and neither had an occupation.

I can't find Ellen in the 1860 Census.

In the 1870 Census, Henrietta was boarding in Westminster with the family of Denton Gehr.
