Wow this IS fascinating. I just discovered yesterday that I descend from Thomas John Hammond and Ann Cockey through their daughter Larrede. I see that Thomas Cockey did not forget his grandhchildren (children of his daughter Ann) who were living when he made a codicil to his will in 1735. Who was the mother of Ann? Why did Thomas apparently despise her so much? It seems that he had some relationship with his son-in-law as he mentions property in of his in Thomas John Hammond's hands. This all sounds like the kind of dirt that someone has waxed eloquent about. Have they?
