Cocksedge Family Genealogy Forum

hello there, you really must have done a lot of work on this, I'm only "part-time" at this, and totally new to computing. I can go back to 1876, with my grandfather. He often used to talk about his days in Lavenham and Cockfield, working the farms, and my father often used to mention "The war memorial" in Cockfield, having only the name Cocksedge on it, I visited the village once, but never found the name on any memorial.
I spoke with someone years ago about genealogy and the family name, they gave me some more info, I have it stored away somewhere, in it they mention a Sara Cocksedge who had found a book about the Cocksedge family, I tried in vain to track her down, but she moved to Australia, and I never heard from her.
I said earlier that I had spoken to someone, and I now recall some of the inbfo they gave, it concerned some Lord of the Manor in Norfolk, I think it was in the 1700's, who went to Brighton and married a Lady there, subsequently burned at the stake for being a witch, but they didn't say whether it was the Lord or the Lady that was burned for being a witch.
I would love to hear from you, and be very intersted in what you have found out, please. If I can be of any help, giving you a few more names and dates to add to your tree, I will be only too pleased. Look forward to hearing from you,
Colin G Cocksedge
