Hi Dave!
Thank you for your message and I thank Juli for alerting me to it.I believe I saw your information on Alysse Rasmussen's Lemery site in years past.
My grandmother was Hellene Lemery, daughter of Antoine Lemery who married Mary Henriette Leriger dit Laplante after rowing a canoe from River Raisen to Detroit in 1824.There was, of course, the Antoine Lemery who married Archange Leriger dit Laplante(probable sister) in 1820 who could very well be the same person. There seemed to me to be some items that needed clarification, however. Why did Antoine and Henriette canoe to Detroit to get married when St. Joseph church was available in Erie nearby in 1824?The birth dates of the various children were unclear to me, and in my late night sleepieness now, I wonder if they overlapped somehow. These Lerigers can be traced back to the 1600s in France.
Good Wishes,
