Francois Emery did Coderre
I have been reading with great interest the entries posted on the Coderre lines and would appreciate any information any of you may have regarding Antoine Coderre's son, Francois (born about 1700). Family group sheets given to me by other researchers in my family indicate that our Francois Codere (my linage is through his son Louis)settled in Vincennes, Indiana in the mid-1700s, and that our Francois was the son of Antoine and his second wife, Marie-Anne Favreau. However, in checking various sources on the web, I haven't found any evidence to link the Vincennes Francois with Antoine Coderre's Francois. Our Francois Coderre married Agnes Richard dit LaFleur about 1735 supposedly in Pointe aux Trembles, Quebec. She was the daughter of Jean Baptiste LaFleur and Marie Anne La Decoverte.Francois and Agnes were the parents of at least seven children among them Louis Coderre who married Barb Elizabeth Levrond dit Metayer in Vincennes in 1770.The Codere family linage can be accurately documented in Vincennes Old Cathedral Jesuit records from the mid 1700s.After reading about Antoine and his coming to Canada from France, I would be overjoyed to learn that our family records are authentic and that we, too, can tie into Antoine's lines. Thank you for your help.
