Did this William Coffield come to N.C. with someone named Elizabeth Cofield. I am trying to see how this William Coffield will fit into our family. I believe I am descendant of a William Cofield b prior to 1725 of Isle of Wight County Va. I have some large gaps in my tree. I had at one time believed that the William that came here in around 1758 was in my tree, but with your information, he may not be in my tree. Cofield and Coffield is such an uncommon name, that any information is always welcome. Thanks again for the help.
