Hello Jean.
My wife Kay is a Cogger descendant. She and I have done considerable research on her Coggers in Kent and London. Like Ann Cogger who contacted you via Genforum, Kay is a great grand-daughter of Charles Cogger, born Spitalfields 1833. We have taken that line back to Edward Cogger who married widow Frances Grante at East Farleigh, Kent, Feb 20, 1704.
You can see this line on two web sites. In ULTIMATE FAMILY TREE format it's at:
http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/TomCook/COGGER/index.htmhttp://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/TomCook/COGGER/index.htm
and in FAMILY TREE MAKER format it is at:
http://www.genealogy.com/users/c/o/o/Thomas-C-Cook/http://www.genealogy.com/users/c/o/o/Thomas-C-Cook/
This page includes many of our Cogger family photos, old and recent.
Jean, we are intrigued by your mention that the Coggers originated in Palitine, Germany. Can you let us know your source for that. We would love to investigate it further. I can't find a PALITINE on our map of Germany. Is there another spelling?
Also, what is a Cogger clock?
Best wishes,
Tom Cook
