Dear Amy,
Thanks for the reply and the information. I too am VERY new to this family tree business. By the way, I live in England but do not know where in the world you are as E-mails don't say do they? My dad did not recognise any of the names you gave me but he has lived most of his life in England and he is 81 so his memories are scanty. (I was born in St Louis but my family left when I was one so obviously I don't remember anything!) Just a little more I have found out but it isn't much to go on. My dad says (BUT he often gets his facts wrong) that the original owner was named COCKBURN (Or something like that) a Scottish name. That was supposed to be his great, great grandfather. This man emigrated to the U.S. and altered the spelling to COLBORN. Also, there is a Family bible in Noble, Illinois. He had one aunt called Martha and another named Mamie. His cousinn's son is David Delzill. I think this is as much as I can find out. Keep asking around and let me know if you discover any new information. Confusing isn't it?!
Best wishes Linda
