Hi Brian,

You may not believe this, but your grandfather and I are cousins. I haven't seen him in years. I met your dad in Syracuse when he was a young man. I was visiting Channel 3 WSYR TV's studios, and I discovered your grandfather was next door on James Street. I met your father on another one of my trips to Syracuse. I worked in broadcasting or related fields most of my working career.

A few years ago I had a telephone conversation with your gp and he told me to contact your mother, as she seems to be your branch of the family's historian. I did so by phone, but have no knowledge of how much farther she has traced the family prior to John and Sarah Hoagland Colborn, our common ancestor.

Perhaps you can use your influence to have your mother share some of that info with me by snail mail.
The Scranton Colborn's appointed me unofficial historian around 1974 and I'm still looking for answers.
