Hi Linda,

After writing a lengthy response to your last email, Prodigy dumped me and I lost the entire email message, so this time I will condense it to tell you that I am related to you. Your ancestor Robert Colborn born 11 January 1753 was born in New Jersey, fought in the Revolutionary War as a soldier in New Jersey, but his wife and children were in Western Pennsylvania, in Somerset County, known as Lower Turkey Foot Township. His brother John Colborn is my direct line ancestor. He was born in New Jersey in 1741 and died in New York State in Genoa, Cayuga County, which is now Lansing, Tompkins County, and is buried in an old abandoned Methodist cemetery. Date of death 3 October 1816. John and his wife Sarah's son Robert stayed in Pennsylvania, and most of my relatives live in Pennsylvania.

Best Regards.

Douglas Elmira, New York Sat. 8 September 2001
