My ancestor John Wesley Colborn (great grandfather) had a brother William Colborn who was a mine superintendent in Pennsylvania, and moved his family to West Virginia, and I believe he was a mine superintendent in West Virginia. He was still living in 1915 and I am not certain as to whether he was still in West Virginia, or maybe in Virginia.

Maybe your Colborns in West Virginia are related, as I believe that Robert Colborn (1753 New Jersey) may be the ancestor of many of the Colborns that you mentioned. My ancestor John Colborn was Robert's brother.
