Who was William Coakley

Hello all. My name is William Coakley. I have been researching my Coakley family history with my father for almost ten years now. Some of you I have contacted personally. Many of us that are researching the same family line are confronted with a problem.

William Coakley of King George County, Virginia (1756?-1821?) has become a mystery. We know everything there is to know about his wives, his children, his descendants...but him personally we know little about. Who were his parents? When exactly was he born? Did he die?

Was he born in Virginia? Or did he spend time on Andros Island in the Bahamas? Was his last name originally Cokeley? Or Colclough?

Due to poor records and names being changed this puzzle can give one quite a headache. But I am resolved to solve this puzzle and any willing to lend a hand would be much appreciated.

If you have any information on this individual...please contact me. My father and I have over 1500 names in our research (way to go dad) and we would be happy to share with you what we have.

Thank you in advance,
William Coakley
