Hi Gillian,
That sounds great. By the wat one of my ggrandfathers brother was a William born Abt:1891 Lanes Wigan, Lancaster. According to the 1901 cencus. There was also Edward, Elizabethand R. Colclough. My gg greatgrandfather was William grandfather who was possibly born in 1854 according to his Marriage certificate. I do not have a death for him , but was deceased pre 1901 cencus as the cencus shows Harriet as a Widow.
The 1881 British Cencus shows William Coakley27 yrs working as a Tailor and Harriet Coakley (wife) 29yrsboth born in Ireland andresiding at 36 Chapel Lane Wigan. Here they have 2 children John and Jane Coakley aged 3 and 1 yrs old.
As you can see there are quiet a few spelling variations. But I am quiet sure the 1881 cencus shows this is my family connection.
Just a few more bits to fill in the jigsaw.
Have a safe trip and enjoy yourself. Take care and am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Leah Cook
