Hi again Karen:
I did a quick search for the record of the 1903 marriage between your William Colclough and his first wife Mary Tennant but came up blank. I checked both Huron County and Bruce County marriage registers. What county were William & Mary married in according to the 1903 record you found?
Do you know if it was at all possible that William's father John Colclough skipped out on his wife Elizabeth Young and the family before 1901???? I stumbled onto a John Colclough that died in/near Sault Ste. Marie c1924 in a house of refuge at about 79 years of age but he was buried a few days later in Clinton, Ontario where several Colcloughs of Goderich Twp. were buried. It seems conceivable that he may have been Elizabeth's ex-husband and I was unable to find any record of his daeth that would have made Elizabeth a widow before 1901.
