Colcolough Family South Carolina

Hi, Fellow Colcoloughs, Colcloughs or Whatever ~

I'm John J. aka Jack, born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1931. I now live on Hilton Head Island, SC after 30+ years in Tennessee.

I was fascinated reading about all of our descendents and most especially how the name came to be changed to approximately eight different spellings (some of them very weird.) It seems that the Charleston Colcoloughs were the only ones to use this spelling.

My wife says that there was someone probably nipping a little when they registered my name and talking to someone with a hearing loss who said "Eh??" and they repeated the "Col" one too many times; thereby making Colclough - Colcolough. Whatever the case may be, I'm happy and proud to be a members of this interesting and, somewhat enigmatic
Colcolough Clan.

I'll be looking forward to hearing from some of you.

All the best,
Jack Colcolough
