Hi Renee',

I have the following information about your husband's grandfather's (Lee Carm Coldiron) family:

Lee Carm Coldiron, b. 16 Jul 1898, East Bernstadt, Laurel Co., KY -- d. 31 Jan 1952, Harlan Co., KY -- buried in Snuffer Cemetery, East Bernstadt, Laurel Co., KY. (My information says he was initially buried in Harlan Co. but was moved later to Snuffer Cemetery.) Lee was son of John M. Coldiron and Martha Jane Dyer. (I have met many descendants of Lee's brother William Ernest Coldiron, who have a Coldiron reunion every Father's Day in London, KY.)

Lee m. Rose Hamlin on 26 Nov 1919 in East Bernstadt, Laurel Co., KY. Rose b. 23 Sep 1900, Manchester, Clay Co., KY. She d. 2 Oct 1997.

Lee and Rose had three children: (1) Herman L. Coldiron, b. 20 Jan 1921, Harlan, Harlan Co., KY -- d. 29 May 1980 (2) Thelma Coldiron, b. 15 Sep 1922, Harlan, Harlan Co., KY -- d. 5 Sep 1983 (3) Jewel C. Coldiron, b. 3 Jan 1926, Harlan, Harlan Co., KY. Jewel m. Lee Roy Huskey in 1944, Harlan Co., KY.

The above is all I have on the family. Note the slightly different spelling of Lee's middle name and Rose's last name from what you have.

I have much information on Lee's ancestors, approximately 10 generations back to the early 1600's.

I hope this helps. If you have additional information on the family and descendants of Herman, Thelma, and Jewel, I would like to work with you to obtain this information. You can contact me directly if you wish via e-mail: Thanks.

Otto G. Coldiron
