The "Colegrove Book" lists other children of Jeremiah and Hannah as Francis of Indiana, Jeremiah of Kentucky (my branch) William of Scioto Co. Ohio, Peleg of Kentucky and two daughters, Nancy and Amy. However old Jeremiah had a wife before Hannah. She was Susanna Barber and he married her in 1759. They also had a son named William who died in the Revolutionary War. There was also Zebulon, Andrew, Samuel and Silas and an unnamed daughter. The FIRST William was in Painted Post, Steuben Co. NY and was shown to have been born 9/17/1760. No wife mentioned. He had one child also named William of Ovid, Seneca Co. NY. No dates at all on him except it says that he died at the home of his cousin James. He had one son, JOSEPH, of Jacksonville, Tompkins Co, NY. It stated as quoted "has defective sight, and is otherwise unfortunate. It lists him as not married at the time of the publishing of this book. (late 1800's) I'm sending you this because of the Tompkins Co. you mentioned. Hope it helps! I know that this is not your Joseph. However it might give you some clues. Let me know if I can give you any other information.
