Dr. Bella H. Colegrove lived and practiced medicine at Sardinia Erie Co., NY. He was also very prominent surgeon during the civil war. Dr. B.H.C. now rests with both of his wives at Sardinia, cemetery records are available at the town hall and the historical society. Dr. B.H.C. had a son, the Rev. Clinton Colegrove, a Baptist minister, who also studied medicine at The University of Buffalo; his medical degree was very likely signed by the Chancellor Millard Fillmore, who later became President of the U.S. Other sources of information Are The History of Buffalo and Erie County 1620-1884, by H. Perry Smith . Also the History of The Town of Concord, by Erasmus Briggs. If you would like a copy of my letter from the Univ. of Buffalo please write me- Michael F. Crawford, 9 E. Main St. (upper), Springville, NY 14141-1229; or call me at (716) 592-0105. Thank you, M.F.C.
