John A. Colgrove was born 7 Apr 1852 in Olney, IL to John and Lucretia Colgrove. He died 13 Oct 1917 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. His death certificate shows his mother's name as Lucretia Jamison. The informant named on the death certificate was Amelia Colgrove. She must have been a second wife, as John was married in Olney on 28 January 1874 to Pauline Lough. They moved to Louisville, KY before the 1880 census was taken. John and Pauline were the parents of four children; Cloyd/Claude, born 1874, IL; Cora, born 1876, IN, married by 1900 to ? Vogt; Lewis/Louis, born 1881, KY; and Charles, born 1885, KY. John was a widower on the 1910 census, so he must have married Amelia between 1910 and 1917, Amelia was living alone in 1920. According to the 1880 census, John's father was born in Vermont, his mother in Indiana. Does anyone know anything about this family?
