Mike Colegrove (mcolegrove@xtra.nz) of New Zealand, who has researched the Colegrove family name in Britain, notes that the oldest references he has found to the Colegrove name are in Oxfordshire, dating back to the 1550's -- and in particular to the region located between Oxford, Windon, and Warwick. There was also apparently a cluster of Colegroves near Oxford and north of Bedford.
