I just dropped a note to Linda -- I am new to this field. From your 5/7/01 posting, we are related. Julius Ten Broeck was Samuel TenBroeck, my great grandfather and he married Belva Lockwood Colgin. (Julius was an entirely different guy and I'll have to look up his last name) Belva and Samuel had two children Melva Lucille (my mother) and Carl. Samuel died in Kellog Idaho. He was a mining Engineer and was killed in a mine accident. Following the accident Belva ,with the two children, moved to Seattle and then to Tacoma.
I new Aunt Clara(in San Francisco) and she had two children, Roberta Brown- a nurse and a beautiful girl and Billy who was a barber. Neither had any children.
I remember Donald Williams, my mothers cousin. He worked in a hospital near Tacoma WA.. I believe he had a brother in WA too. and I vaguelly remember meeting him.
My grandmother, Belva, would make a novel best seller. When married to my grandfather Samuel TenBroeck (and that is the way it is spelled-- family came to this country in the early 1600s) she was a typical wife and mother. But before she met her maker she buried five husbands and they all died happy!
My mother married Sidney Gleb from Tacoma ( I still have Gleb cousins and their offspring in the area) and I am the only child. Her brother Carl married a Lois Durant, had two boys Terry(deceased) and Dale. They both had children, but I have to do some contacts on that (last name TenBroeck).
Hope this finds you well and is useful. I can use all the information I can get on the Colgins.
