Hi Sam,
I am looking for a Sam Turner from long ago:
I got your name from FTM. I am currently researching two different
branches of the surname: Turner in the counties of: Jefferson, Oldham,
Bullitt, Barren, and Spencer Counties of KY.
Currently I am stuck on Samuel Turner Sr. who had a son born on 13 April
1939-Sam Turner Jr. Sam had siblings:
Ova (ovie) Turner-8 Jan. 1933
Novalene (Nevah) 12 Jan. 1917 (might have been fathered by Vaugh)
Harold or George Turner 5 Feb. 1913 (might have been fathered by Vaugh)
Due to such a large time gap between all four children, it might be that
the first two had a different father who might have been killed in WWI and
the wife, Luch Vaugh had the new husband, Sam Turner Sr. to adopt the
first two children. It is odd that the last child to be born has the Jr.
name. Normally the Jr. namesake goes to the first male instead of the
last child.
Next, I am attempting to identify if the above family is linked to another
Turner family in Louisville: Kyle Clinton Turner. I don't have much on
him as of yet, but he was born in 23 Oct. 1956; Belinda J. Turner 2 March
1950; and Rebecca Turner 17 April 1952. This family seemed to live in
Oldham Co., KY during 60's-80's.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you might be able to give me!
